CAMP

The goal of Super STEAM! Camp is to provide diverse learners with quality summer programming through virtual platforms.

Super STEAM Camp grew from the founders of Providentia Enterprises’ experiences during summer 2019’s Young Dragons Summer STEAM Camp.

This venture aims to continue to provide students immersive learning experiences throughout a summer affected by COVID-19. This venture leverages our STEM and literacy expertise while combining their training in best practices for online teaching.

A sample of camps we have successfully designed are: 

Grab your cape and sidekick! Fly, dash, or teleport into Super STEAM! Camp, where you’ll learn about your favorite superheroes and villains’ superpowers and create your superhero movie!

Learn to develop a movie with your characters and plot. In teams, you will decide if your superhero movie is an animated film or a live-action movie.

Develop your screenplay writing, camera and animation functionalities, and characters’ role descriptions.

SKILLS COVERED

This camp focuses on building a world in Minecraft.

We will discuss the biomes in Minecraft Education Edition and the students will learn how to "mod" the creatures in their world.

For example, students who build an aquatic world can design their marine creatures.

The students will have to justify their designs for their biome. This camp teaches biology and graphic design.  

SKILLS COVERED

This camp will focus on storytelling and animation in Minecraft.

Students will storyboard their movie short and then animate their movies in Mine-imator.

For example, one of the ELA lessons in Minecraft Education Edition is a scavenger hunt from the Swiss Family Robinson. The students will learn creative writing and animation.
